AMCA Toronto is pleased to invite its members and community at large to a presentation of bilingual (Croatian and English) edition of The Canon of Croatian Poetry – 1450-2000 by Ivo and Vinka Šoljan. Ivo, who delivered a lecture “Why should we read classics” for AMCA Toronto in 2003, is a professor in the English Department, at Grand Valley State University, while Vinka has worked as an English teacher and an editor in a publishing house.

Admission, which includes coffee or tea and after the lecture hors d’oeuvres and a glass of wine, is $15 for members of AMCA Toronto with paid membership fee for the current year, and $25 for others. AMCA Toronto is excited to invite its members and community at large to a lecture Pelješac Bridge – the Most Important Transportation Project in Croatian History by Željko Marušić, Professor at the Faculty for Transportation and Traffic Sciences at the University of Zagreb, a leading Croatian expert and opinion maker in areas of transport and traffic safety, on Friday November 23, 2018 at 7:45 pm at The Faculty Club of the U of T, at 41 Willcocks Street in Toronto The lecture will be in English. Dr. Marušić will address all – traffic, engineering, economical and political aspects of the Pelješac Bridge.

AMCA Toronto poziva clanove i goste na predavanje Dr. Vlatke Stimac Ljubas, jezikoslovne kroatistice iz Leksikografskog zavoda Miroslav Krleza, na temu Hrvatske leksikografije na kojem ce se osvrnuti i na rad Zavoda. Predavanje ce se odrzati u petak 23. ozujka s pocetkom u 7:30 navecer u Baka Gallery Cafe-u. Predavanje ce biti na hrvatskom jeziku.

Maksim Mrvica, the best selling classical crossover pianist in the world, will be taking part in AMCA Toronto Lecture Series on Thursday, November 23. We will hear his story, see a short film about him and will have an opportunity to chat over a glass of wine with him on the eve of his concert at the Living Arts Centre.
